Description
This connector is built for permanent installation on 1/2″ corrugated copper cables. The soldering process creates a robust, gas-tight junction between the cable’s center conductor and the connector’s contact, which effectively eliminates the microscopic “diode effects” that cause PIM. The outer conductor is typically secured via a high-pressure clamp or a secondary solder sleeve to ensure a 360-degree shield connection.
Internally, it utilizes PTFE (Teflon) insulation for high voltage handling and thermal stability. The silver-plated phosphor bronze inner contact ensures maximum conductivity and durability. When properly installed and protected with weatherproofing kits, these connectors meet IP68 standards, making them fully suitable for long-term deployment on cellular towers and broadcast sites.
Key Technical Advantages
-
Superior PIM Stability: The solder bond provides a more consistent electrical path than mechanical pressure alone, resulting in ultra-low PIM (typically ≤ -163 dBc).
-
High Power Capacity: The 7/16 DIN interface is capable of handling several kilowatts of peak power, making it the standard for macro-cell transmission.
-
Vibration Resistance: Solder connections are less prone to loosening over time due to thermal cycling or wind-induced vibration on towers.
-
Corrosion Protection: The tri-alloy (White Bronze) finish resists oxidation and environmental degradation, maintaining a clean electrical interface for years.
-
Low Reflection Loss: Precision machining ensures a very low VSWR, protecting high-cost power amplifiers from reflected energy.
