Description
The RP-SMA Male Right-Angle Crimp Connector is a specialized RF component designed for space-constrained environments. In a Reverse Polarity configuration, the “Male” connector (Plug) features internal threads but contains a female center socket instead of a pin. This design is primarily used in the Wi-Fi and consumer electronics industries to comply with local regulatory standards for antenna interconnections.
This connector is compatible with a wide range of mid-sized flexible cables, including LMR200 and RG58. The 90-degree right-angle geometry allows the cable to exit parallel to the equipment interface, significantly reducing the depth required for installation and protecting the cable from exceeding its minimum bend radius. The termination uses a hex-crimp method for the outer ferrule, providing a permanent, vibration-proof mechanical bond. Constructed with a gold-plated brass body and PTFE (Teflon) insulation, it ensures stable signal integrity and low VSWR up to 6 GHz.
Key Technical Advantages
-
Low-Profile 90? Routing: Ideal for mounting antennas in tight enclosures or behind equipment racks where space is limited.
-
Broad Cable Support: A versatile design that fits multiple high-performance 50 Ohm cables, including low-loss LMR195 and LMR200 versions.
-
High-Strength Crimp Bond: The hex-crimp ferrule provides a rugged, 360-degree attachment that maintains electrical grounding under physical stress.
-
Superior RF Shielding: The crimp termination ensures a continuous ground path, providing excellent protection against EMI/RFI interference.
-
Maximum Conductivity: High-purity gold plating on the contact socket and body ensures low insertion loss and excellent corrosion resistance.
Key Features
-
Reverse Polarity Male Interface: Features internal threads and a center socket (Plug with Socket).
-
90-Degree Configuration: Reduces mechanical strain on the cable and allows for cleaner cable management.
-
Premium PTFE Dielectric: Provides high thermal stability and consistent electrical performance across microwave frequencies.
-
3-Piece Assembly: Consists of the right-angle body, center contact socket, and outer crimp ferrule for efficient field termination.
-
Industrial Durability: Rated for at least 500 mating cycles with standard RP-SMA Female jacks.
