The 2.4mm interface was developed to eliminate the “moding” issues found in SMA and 2.92mm connectors at frequencies above 40 GHz. This male-to-female adapter acts as a transparent bridge, allowing users to extend cable runs or change genders without introducing significant signal reflections. Because the 2.4mm interface features a thickened outer wall, it is more mechanically robust than smaller millimeter-wave connectors, making it the industry standard for high-frequency test and measurement environments.
Typically constructed from passivated stainless steel with gold-plated beryllium copper center contacts, these adapters are built for extreme durability (up to 500 mating cycles).
