Description
The TNC (Threaded Neill-Concelman) series is a ruggedized RF interface designed to maintain constant electrical contact in high-vibration environments by utilizing a 7/16-28 threaded coupling. This male (plug) variant is specialized for 1/2″ Super Flexible (Superflex) Cable, which differs from standard feeder cable by utilizing a deep helical corrugation. This design allows for a much tighter bend radius, making this connector-cable combination essential for routing signal through cramped equipment racks, cabinet interiors, and vehicle-mounted RF systems.
This connector utilizes a professional clamp termination system specifically optimized for the helical geometry of superflex cables. The high-torque compression mechanism secures the outer conductor to ensure low contact resistance and excellent Passive Intermodulation (PIM) performance. Manufactured with a heavy-duty nickel-plated brass body and premium PTFE (Teflon) insulation, it delivers stable 50-Ohm impedance and low VSWR up to 11 GHz. The integrated O-ring seals provide a moisture-proof barrier, ensuring the assembly remains reliable in both indoor and outdoor tactical environments.
Key Technical Advantages
-
Helical Corrugation Match: Specifically engineered to grip the deep helical threads of 1/2″ superflex cables, providing superior pull-off strength and electrical stability during cable movement.
-
Low-PIM Design: The precision-machined clamp interface minimizes non-linearities, reducing passive intermodulation—a critical requirement for modern multi-carrier cellular and LTE systems.
-
Vibration-Proof Threaded Interface: The 7/16-28 threaded coupling ensures a secure mechanical lock, preventing signal intermittent issues in high-shock industrial or aerospace applications.
-
Weather-Resistant Sealing: Features integrated gaskets and O-rings to provide an environmental seal, protecting the cable dielectric from moisture ingress and corrosion in exposed installations.
-
Flexible Routing Support: Designed to complement the high flexibility of the cable, ensuring the connector-to-cable transition can withstand repeated bending and stress in tight-access areas.
Key Features
-
Interface Type: TNC Male (Plug) with standard 7/16-28 threaded coupling.
