Description

RG-6 (Radio Guide 6) is a high-specification coaxial cable designed to carry high-frequency electrical signals with low loss. It features a larger center conductor and thicker dielectric insulation than older RG-59 cables, allowing it to support the high-frequency requirements of modern digital HDTV, CATV, and broadband internet services. The cable is constructed with a solid or copper-clad steel (CCS) center conductor, surrounded by a foam polyethylene dielectric and a multi-layered shielding system (typically foil and braid) to prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI).
