Description
The 1.13mm Micro-Coaxial cable is a high-reliability RF interconnect designed for 50 Ohm systems where the ultra-thin 0.81mm or 1.13mm cables may lack the necessary shielding or signal integrity for longer internal runs. With a nominal outer diameter of 1.32mm, it provides a more robust signal path while remaining small enough for high-density electronic packaging. The cable features a stranded silver-plated copper center conductor, ensuring excellent flexibility and the mechanical durability required for routing through tight chassis and hinge mechanisms.
The internal construction utilizes a high-stability FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) dielectric and jacket, offering exceptional thermal stability and chemical resistance. A key advantage of the 1.32mm series is that it is frequently manufactured with a double silver-plated copper braided shield, providing superior RF isolation and significantly lower signal leakage compared to smaller single-shielded micro-coax. This makes it a “gold standard” for internal WiFi, Bluetooth, and 5G sub-6GHz applications in high-end consumer electronics and industrial devices. It is most commonly terminated with U.FL (IPEX MHF) or MHF4 connectors.
Key Technical Advantages
-
Enhanced Shielding Performance: Often available with double-shielding, it provides superior protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) in congested electronic environments.
-
Low Signal Attenuation: Offers a significant improvement in signal loss over 0.81mm and 1.13mm cables, making it ideal for slightly longer internal antenna runs.
-
Extreme Thermal Stability: The FEP jacket and dielectric ensure consistent electrical performance in temperatures ranging from -55°C to +200°C.
-
High Flexibility & Flex-Life: The stranded silver-plated core allows for repeated movement and a tight bend radius, perfect for modular electronics.
-
Silver-Plated Signal Path: Silver plating on both the center conductor and shields maximizes conductivity via the “skin effect” and ensures long-term resistance to corrosion.
