The 2.92mm interface is specifically engineered to be mechanically compatible with SMA and 3.5mm connectors while providing mode-free performance at significantly higher frequencies. This female-to-female adapter is frequently used as a connector saver, protecting the integrated ports of expensive Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and signal generators from the wear of repeated mating cycles.
