Description

RG-179 DS is an enhanced version of the standard RG-179, specifically designed to provide superior shielding effectiveness. The “DS” designation indicates a Double Shielded construction, which typically consists of two layers of silver-plated copper braid. This dual-shielding system provides significantly higher RF isolation and lower signal leakage than single-shielded versions, making it indispensable for high-density equipment racks where signal cross-talk must be eliminated.

The cable is built around a silver-plated copper-clad steel (SPCCS) center conductor and a high-stability PTFE (Teflon) dielectric. This internal architecture ensures low attenuation and exceptional signal clarity for digital video and high-frequency data. Encased in a rugged FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) jacket, the RG-179 DS maintains its electrical and mechanical integrity across a wide temperature range of -55°C to +200°C.
