Description
The BNC Surge Protector is a critical safety component designed to shunt high-voltage transients to ground before they can reach and damage sensitive electronic equipment. This variant features a BNC Male to BNC Female (Plug to Jack) inline configuration, allowing it to be easily installed between an antenna lead and the equipment port. Optimized for applications up to 3GHz, it provides a wideband solution for both analog and digital signals, including broadband wireless and high-definition video.
The device utilizes a replaceable or fixed Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) mechanism that triggers at a specified voltage threshold, redirecting the surge to a dedicated grounding terminal. Its robust construction ensures minimal insertion loss and excellent return loss, maintaining signal integrity while providing a sacrificial barrier against electrical surges. Manufactured with a nickel-plated brass body and premium PTFE insulation, it is built to withstand harsh environmental conditions in both indoor and outdoor installations.
Key Technical Advantages
-
High-Frequency Performance: Supports a wide frequency spectrum from DC to 3GHz, making it compatible with 4G/LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi, and high-resolution video systems.
-
Rapid Response Time: The integrated gas discharge tube reacts nearly instantaneously to voltage spikes, providing superior protection against lightning-induced transients.
-
Low Signal Interference: Precision-engineered to ensure minimal insertion loss and low VSWR, preventing signal degradation in high-sensitivity RF paths.
-
Inline “Pass-Through” Design: The M/F interface allows for simple integration into existing cable runs without the need for additional adapters.
-
Dedicated Grounding Port: Features a heavy-duty grounding screw or terminal for a low-impedance connection to the main building ground, essential for effective surge diversion.
