Description
RG-303 is a premium coaxial cable designed for 50 Ohm systems operating in demanding environments. Manufactured to comply with MIL-DTL-17 specifications, it is optimized for applications that require a balance between high-frequency signal integrity and extreme environmental resilience. The cable features a solid silver-plated copper-clad steel (SPCCS) center conductor, which provides the high tensile strength needed for vibration-heavy environments while maintaining the superior conductivity of silver at high frequencies.
The internal architecture consists of a high-stability PTFE (Teflon) dielectric, ensuring low signal loss and exceptional thermal stability. To protect against electromagnetic interference (EMI), the cable is equipped with a high-density silver-plated copper braided shield. Encased in a transparent or tinted brown FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) jacket, RG-303 can operate safely in temperatures ranging from -55°C to +200°C. Its robust design makes it a superior choice over standard RG-58 variants for high-heat and high-performance mission-critical systems. It is typically terminated with SMA, N-Type, or TNC connectors.
Key Technical Advantages
-
Extreme Temperature Resilience: The PTFE/FEP construction ensures consistent electrical performance in environments where standard PVC cables would melt or become brittle.
-
Silver-Plated Performance: Silver plating on both the center conductor and the shield maximizes conductivity through the “skin effect” and provides long-term resistance to oxidation.
-
High Tensile Strength: The copper-clad steel core allows the cable to withstand significant pulling force and mechanical stress during installation in complex airframes or industrial machinery.
-
Exceptional Signal Stability: Optimized for stable performance across the GHz spectrum, providing low VSWR and predictable attenuation for sensitive RF circuits.
-
Chemical and Fluid Immunity: The FEP jacket is inert to most oils, solvents, and chemicals, ensuring survivability in engine bays and industrial laboratories.
